About the Author
Bruce
B. Wilmer is a native Long Islander, raised in Manhasset, NY, who in
1976 decided to pursue his improbable dream of turning his avocation of
writing poetry into a livelihood by forming his own publishing company
with his wife, Sydney, a former teacher. Residing and working
in
Huntington, NY, until 2003, when the two of them relocated their
company to North Carolina, he has continued to pursue his writer’s
dream and broadened his creative perspective living in the Blue Ridge
Mountains.
Starting
out with a pair of obsolete Chandler-Price letter presses, which he and
his wife bought at auction in 1976, the two published Bruce’s poem
about their newborn baby and sold it in hospitals and gift shops in
personalized form. That initial poem has grown to more than
350
titles in their line, most of which were inspired by his own
experiences or the personal experiences of others.
Bruce
is the sole author of the Light Lines® Originals poetry products
published by their company, Wilmer Graphics, as well as the author of
six other books of poetry, including FEELINGS
(1987), LOVE POEMS
(1990), BELIEVE IN YOURSELF: POEMS OF PURPOSE (1998), POEMS TO CARRY
WITH YOU ON LIFE'S JOURNEY (2012), and POEMS FOR THE ONE I LOVE (2013).
What
he calls his "purposeful poetry" has been sold in thousands of stores
of every type nationwide and in over 45 countries in two
languages. His verses express thoughts of love, friendship,
family, inspiration, encouragement and communication. They
are
typically displayed on various types of wall scrolls or carried on
little laminated cards called Wallet Stuffers®.
His
greatest satisfaction comes from hearing the heart-warming stories and
personal responses of readers to his poems. Making a
difference
and inspiring others has always been important to him.
He
continues to pursue his dream of touching hearts and souls and helping
others to communicate and express their feelings by sharing his strong
emotions about 9/11 in this collection of poems released just months
before the 10th anniversary of 9/11/01.
